The Austrian winery Weingut Piewald will also be exhibiting at the fair, located in the heart of the Spitzer Graben in the Wachau region.

Helmut Piewald: “We cultivate approximately 6 hectares, primarily on steep terraced vineyards. In addition to our main varieties, Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, we also offer Neuburger and Muscateller. The most important sites are Kalkofen, Liebenberg, Zornberg, Offenberg and Biern. In the vineyard, great emphasis is placed on sustainable management, which includes manual pruning, careful canopy management, strict grape reduction, and selective hand-harvesting. In the cellar, after temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wines are given plenty of time on the fine lees to highlight the subtleties of each grape variety and site.
