VINO HORT
VINO HORT winery from the Znojmo region is also among the exhibitors at WINE Prague 2026.
Jan Bartušek: “The VINO HORT winery was founded in 1999. At the beginning of every wine are the winegrowers who have an excellent understanding of their work. The grapes come from pre-selected vineyards in the Znojmo region. The winery places great emphasis on selecting healthy grapes with physiological ripeness. Yields per vine are kept below 1.5 kilograms, with the possibility of further reduction.
The philosophy is based on two key words: Variety & Terroir. The processing of the grapes differs according to the individual varieties. The winery embraces new techniques and experiments whenever they are in harmony with nature and the natural development of the wine, while at the same time remaining rooted in tradition.
VINO HORT has achieved its greatest success in the production of rosé wines, which are one of its specialities. The wines are offered in five ranges. The entry-level range is Veselé víno, recognizable by its checkered label. The other ranges are VINO HORT, ROSÉ HORT, HORT FRANC and HORT SEKT.
The VINO HORT range now includes the new Znojemský Veltlín – a new brand of pure, fruity Grüner Veltliner designed for everyday drinking and intended to appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. The ROSÉ HORT range features the new Pinot Meunier, a great rarity in the Czech Republic. Its original Czech name is Mlynářka.
The VOC range is represented, among others, by Královský Ryzlink rýnský, characterized by petrol and kerosene notes and excellent ageing potential. The HORT France range is led by its top wine, HF 9, with an ageing potential of up to 30 years. The HORT SEKT range is highlighted by a rosé sparkling wine that is certainly worth tasting.
In 2009, the winery moved its red wine production to France. The result is an exceptional product reflecting a new trend – the combination of a winemaker and a négociant: red cuvées from Languedoc that impress with their rich character, from an alluring aroma and powerful palate to velvety tannins and a full, long finish.
Since 2022, the winery has been based in Hodonice, where the first Czech cooperative of winemakers based on mutual cooperation has been established. A new feature here is three granite eggs, in which the wine ferments under ideal conditions and can naturally cool itself thanks to the properties of the stone. The resulting wine is intensely golden, dense and mineral, and you will certainly hear more about it in the future.
Another new addition is Hort Secca, available in both white and rosé versions, which may well make you forget Prosecco. VINO HORT is thus helping to shape new directions and trends in winemaking.”
