Weingut Norbert Bauer |at the Wine Prague 2019

Norbert Bauer´s winery is the continuation of a long tradition. The winery has stood since 1721 in Jetzelsdorf in the Weinviertel, and has been in the hands of the family for 13. generations. In 1992 Norbert Bauer took over the winery from his parents and runs it together with his wife, vinter Gisela. Already their five children are becoming involved in a charming, inquisitive and open way to the business of growing, and making wines, and to the unique character of their wines that this family business has developed over the generations.
In harmony with the nature and the particularly favourable climatic conditions a truly ecological culture is brought to life on 58 hectares of vineyard with 250,000 vines. Basin sites, hill sites, loam and primary rock soils offer ideal conditions for producing Zweigelt, Sankt Laurent, Blauer Portugieser and the rarer Blaufränkischen. Naturally there is no shortage of the white variety since the Green Veltliner, Riesling, Welschriesling, White Burgundy and co. thrive excellently here.
