Domaine de Bonaguil |at the Wine Prague 2019
Domaine de Bonaguil is located at an altitude of 230 meters in the middle of forests and meadows at the crossroads of the French departments Lot, Lot et Garonne and Dordogne. Since its founding in 1989 by the owners of a prestigious Cognac house, it has become part of the surrounding nature that with its variety of fauna and flora has created a harmonious and unique place. The vineyard is planted on a soil of very high quality. The exposition of the vines and the depth of their roots guarantee maturity, complexity and freshness of the wines. Grape varieties (Merlot, Gamay, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc), which are atypical for Lot, are organically grown. Grass is not an enemy, but an ally, and its management of density and height is used to cater to the nutritional needs of the vines. All wine-making practices are in harmony with nature, and all wines are sulfite-free. Since 2017, the winery has been owned by Barbora and Daniel Donath and under the supervision of Mr. Patrice Hateau, a Bordeaux consultant, whose wines in 2009 and 2010 earned 100 points from Robert Parker.
